Teavivre

I've been posting daily on Steepster for about a month and a half, and about three weeks ago, I got a private message from Angel Chen, the owner and proprietor of Teavire. She had seen my reviews, and offered me a some free samples of some of her teas. Needless to say, I was overjoyed at the opportunity to a) expand my horizons by trying new and interesting tea, and b) getting them for free.

These teas arrived today, and here is a brief summary of what I got:
  • White Peony Tea (Bai Mu Dan)[White tea]
  • Yun Nan Dian Hong [Black tea]
  • Tie Guan Yin "Iron Goddess"  [Oolong tea]
  • Jasmine "Dragon Pearls" [Green tea]
  • Bailin Gonfu [Black tea]
The last one, the Bailin Gonfu Black Tea, is the one that I have been anticipating the most. It currently has a rating of 89, which places it as one of the highest-rated teas on the site! It is also worth noting that the White Peony is the first legit white tea I've ever acquired, so I'm looking forward to that as well. Finally, the Tie Guan Yin is a lightly oxidized or "green" version, which I have never tried before. The dry leaves have an almost fruity aroma, so I think it is a spring picking, but the date on the package says June...

Regardless, I am very excited, so keep checking my Steepster account to see the reviews during the next couple of weeks (Finals week is next week, so I will be busy, and might not have time to post about what I drank that day).

Also, I've acquired several other teas since Thanksgiving, so expect a few more comparisons  between two or more teas to be posted here during the next two months or so.

If you've had any of these tea, either from Teavivre of from somewhere else, feel free to leave a comment.
